What makes a bar fridge energy efficient?

The main factors are the door type, insulation, LED lighting, efficient fan motors and compressors, good door seals and an accurate controller. Placement and regular cleaning of the condenser coil also make a large difference to real world running costs.

Are glass door bar fridges less efficient than solid door models?

Generally yes, because glass lets more heat in than an insulated solid door. Double glazed or low emissivity glass narrows the gap, and the extra drink sales from a glass door often outweigh the small additional running cost in customer facing areas.

How often should I clean my bar fridge condenser?

Every one to three months is a good rule, and more often in dusty or greasy areas. A blocked condenser makes the compressor run longer, which increases power use and shortens the life of the fridge.

Can I spread the cost of a new bar fridge?

Many venues prefer to spread the cost of new equipment rather than pay upfront. Contact our team to talk through payment options that may suit your business, and we can help you compare models so you know exactly what you are budgeting for.

How much does it cost to run a commercial bar fridge?

It depends on the model's energy consumption, your electricity tariff and how hard the unit works. As an example, a double door unit using 4 kilowatt hours a day at 30 cents per kilowatt hour costs around $438 a year to run. Check the registered energy figure for any model you consider and ask us for a quote on current pricing.
